Common questions
How do I restore an old photo?
Open PicFix, tap the plus button, and pick an old photo from your camera roll (or take a snap of a framed print). Pinch and rotate inside the preview to frame the part you want fixed if you need to. Tap Fix Photo to repair damage while keeping the original colors, or tap Fix & Colorize to also add natural color to a black and white or faded picture. A few seconds later, the restored old photo appears in your gallery.
The restoration came out wrong. What can I do?
AI restoration is probabilistic and results vary with the input. Try one of these:
- Frame just the photo itself, not the picture frame around it, using the pinch/rotate gesture in the preview.
- If the original is very small or blurry, take a higher resolution photo of the print before restoring.
- Try Fix Photo if Fix & Colorize produced colors you do not like, or vice versa.
- If a result still looks off, email us with the original and we will take a look.
Where can I see what I have restored?
Every restored photo lives in your Gallery, accessible from the home screen. Tap any restored photo to open it with the before and after slider, where you can save, share, rate, or delete it.
How do I manage my subscription or credits?
Purchases and subscriptions are handled by Apple. To manage or cancel a subscription, go to your iPhone Settings, tap your name, then Subscriptions, then PicFix. Credit balances are visible in the PicFix app on the home screen.
What is the refund policy?
Consumable credit packs are non-refundable once purchased.
Subscriptions have no commitment: you can cancel at any time from your iPhone Settings (Apple ID, then Subscriptions, then PicFix), and you will not be charged for the next period. Past subscription charges are not refunded.
Apple is the merchant of record for every App Store purchase, so any formal refund request still goes through Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com. Apple may grant a refund at their discretion regardless of our policy above.
I deleted a restored photo by mistake.
Deletions are permanent on our servers shortly after you confirm them in the app. If you removed a restoration recently, email us right away and we will check whether it is still recoverable.
What devices does PicFix support?
PicFix runs on iPhone with iOS 16 or later, and on Mac with macOS 13 or later.
How private are my photos?
Photos you submit are processed on our servers, then kept only for as long as the restoration exists in your gallery. We do not train AI models on your photos. See the full privacy policy for the detail.
